Kelly Fortmann

Founder/ Co-Director

Inspired by the good work that organizations like Fairy Godmothers are doing around the country Kelly contacted founder Joyce Jesko and asked about tips for starting her own organization.  Kelly has a BA from the University of Delaware as well as a MLIS from Long Island University CW Post. Currently she is living in Germany and is the Chair for the USA Girl Scouts Overseas Stuttgart committee, teaching yoga, pilates, spinning and training for her first marathon. Wait there is more.  She enjoys to travel, read, hit the beach, be outside, empower girls, inspire others, play with her dog, spend time with her husband, ski, swim, and help others.  She never stops moving.  She is also a Military wife.  Kelly hopes that Fairy Godmothers of Virginia will help high school girls whose financial situations are such as otherwise would preclude their ability to attend their prom by providing them prom gowns, shoes, and similar accessories which have been donated to the organization.  She also hopes to give them the shopping experience of their dreams!

Kelly Tunno

Co-Director

Kelly Tunno joined Fairy Godmothers the first year when there were only a few dresses and the idea of helping high school girls attend prom was there.  Kelly is from the Tidewater area and brings her local experiences to Fairy Godmothers of Virginia to make the program unique and to make each girl feel like Cinderella for the day.  Kelly is a mother of two and volunteers for many other organizations in the community.  Kelly strives to help the community grow and make an impact on other's lives.

Wendy Baylor

Wendy Baylor joined Fairy Godmothers as a volunteer shopper at the first Prom Fair.  She was so inspired, that she asked to become more involved in the program year round.  Wendy graduated with a BS in Education from Mary Washington College, and received a MS from Virginia Commonweatlh University, She has worked in the Virgina Beach School System for 9 years, and currently works at Green Run HS where she is lucky enough to chaperone prom and see some of our "Prom Princesses" in action.
